Personal repository of apps and games I like, packaged as AppImages. Unlike professional AppImages, these ones do not ensure 100% full compatibility with every Linux distro under the sun, but a regular workstation PC should have all the dependencies necessary to run each app. All apps have been tested under a Devuan 5 64-bit laptop. Z-Sync files are provided with each AppImage, which allows for remote updating as long as this site operates.

LibreWeb

Version v0.10.0

AppImage

Z-Sync

Decentralized web base & browser, replacing search engine & URL systems with an IPFS-based file store & browser. Sort of like a torrent browser site if you've ever used one of those. Personally I would indeed prefer if they indeed used torrent but IPFS works well enough.

BSPInfo

Version v1.4.7

AppImage

Z-Sync

Java program that allows extracting assets integrated inside a BSP Source map file. This strategy of integrating assets in BSP files has become standard in official TF2 maps since around 2015, and so an extraction tool is needed to get the textures and models in many TF2 maps. It is not exclusive to TF2 maps however, and can work with virtually any map for any Source engine game. It also has a bunch of general analysis systems which could be useful.

BSPSrc

Version v1.4.7

AppImage

Z-Sync

Java program that can decompile any Source engine BSP map files back into its raw VMF form, which can then be edited with Hammer or with a text editor. It can automatically detect which game a map was made from and adjust the end result based on its small Source engine variations.

CopyParty

Version v1.19.8

AppImage

Z-Sync

Python-based file server. Execute the program to instantly summon a server you can upload, view, edit, delete, etc to your files.

GZDoom

Version v4.14.2

AppImage

Z-Sync

Modern engine for the eternal boomer shooter, Doom (1 & 2). Requires WADs to play the original games. Compatible with pretty much any mod ever made for either game, and even serves as a base for more powerful, modern mods for the classic games.

HyperRogue

Version v13.1f

AppImage

Z-Sync

Simple non-euclidean roguelike game. Surprisingly addictive. Kill enemies & take treasure.

Unciv

Version v4.18.7

AppImage

Z-Sync

FOSS Civ V clone. Mostly plays like the original.

VPKEdit

Version v4.4.2

AppImage

Z-Sync

VPK swiss army knife. Peep into VPK files, preview their contents, make your own VPKs, extract selected or all files, etc.

The Secret Chronicles

Version v2.1

AppImage

Z-Sync

FOSS clone of the classic 2D game, Super Mario World. Successor of Secret Maryo Chronicles, which was abandoned long ago. Complete with a level editor and many community made levels.

MegaHAL

Version v2.3.2

AppImage

Z-Sync

TUI app, so open it on the terminal. 90s college chatbot, from way before the days of ChatGPT. Comes with a set of preset "personalities", and allows the user to personally train their own. Most of what it says is complete bogus, but it's funny, and it doesn't drink an entire lake every time it speaks.

Alhena

Version v5.4.2

AppImage

Z-Sync

Web browser for the Gemini protocol.

Super Tux Kart

Version v1.5

AppImage

Z-Sync

FOSS clone of Super Mario Kart, using FOSS mascots as characters, and with quirky PS1 graphics (they haven't been updated since the 90s)

Mari0

Version v1.6

AppImage

Z-Sync

Specifically, Mari0 CE, the Community Edition, which has several QoL changes and is still supported. Requires LÖVE to be installed on the system. Super Mario Bros, but with Portal's mechanics.
